My recent vacation I

For the level of my visits to my relatives in the recent past, even my grandpa and grandma have started introducing me to others as a distant relative. I dont know whether they really meant the distance between bangalore and paramakudi. So I had planed a vacation to all my relatives just to show them that I still live in this earth with this kind of face, hairstyle and physique.
I had booked a train from b'lore 2 madurai. All set for my train on the friday nite from b'lore. As usual lazyed around in starting, took an auto fearing b'lore traffic. Finally reached station just b4 some 5 mins of departure. Indian trains known for their punctuality was late by just half an hour. Thank god. And finally it arrived. I just felt the day was the worst I can ever have whn I saw my compartment. It was all dirty. It had rained in mysore. And I heard all my beloved country mates have really enjoyed the ride by having groundnut and were playing catch-catch with the shells of it. Oh god wht next. I searched each and every store for some newspaper. Bad luck again. None of them had anything. The funny part is they dont even want to hear you, if they cannot business (or money) with u. The train had started and I cudnt sit anywhere. So dirty the seats were. Infact I myself felt like standing on 4 legs with my bag put up on back like a donkey for the level to which I was luking for some paper to clean that place. Finally I snatched some paper from one of the guy who was having his parcel dinner package and cleaned the place. There u go. Nextly a guy opposite to me started talking all nonsense. He is a tamil. And some how by my luks people always think I am a north indian. I dont know whether i should take it as a compliment here. So I maintained my image by talking only in english for all the questions he had asked me to bring me into the (sick) conversation he was making with the fellow passengers. Man, this guy really needs something to be put up in his mouth. He talked abt politics, bangalore weather, roads, how cosmopolitan it has become, and all stupid crap. One of the other fellow passenger possibly a s/w engineer too, really went on a toss for the entire nite. Some ready made chapathi for dinner and I have peacefully slept.

Finally I have reached paramakudi thru madurai. For the uninitiated It is our kamalhassan's native. Reached my grandma's place at arnd 11 am. The latest addition to the house, my cousin's daughter took just an hour to get well comfortable with me. She is really cute and too intelligent for her age. Bought her some chocolates. Took some digipics. After 3 pics have been taken the battery is down. I spent some 2-3 hrs in the entire place to get the same type of AA batteries. Bad luck. I could nt get it. Dropped the idea of taking any more pics in paramakudi. And went to the temple in the nite dat day with my aunt. My aunt knows the entire place in paramakudi. Not to mention the people. I have seen atleast 10 to 15 of them talking with her on the way to the temple. She really knows a lot of them in that place. Being a teacher is one advantage she had. Btw I dnt even know (or do i care?) who lives in my neighbourhood. Software engineers just convert their time into money. And I am one among them. I always feel I have been missing some thing or the other in life being a s/w engineer. But then in here people (or most of the people) dont chose careers. Its the career which chooses people. There was a funny incident at my house. The power has just gone off and one of my room mate tried to light up a candle. Unluckily he cudnt get a match stick, so went to the neighbour's hours and rang the bell. The neighbour (a lady) didnt even cared who is at the door and cooly said "No body @ home. Come later". Height of cosmopolitism.

I think I have take a deep turn from my vacation experiences. It wud be continued in the next post. Btw guys do share wht u feel abt my blogs.
